Au Lac Weapons

One of the very first civilizations appeared on the soil of Vietnam, with Văn Lang and Âu Lạc were the earliest kingdoms that emerged from this Dong Son Culture. At this time, bronze weapons were extensively used, such as bronze arrows, bronze crossbow triggers and bronze swords.

Figure 7 & 8: Bronze sword, discovered from Viet Khe funeral site in Hai Phong (Mộ thuyền Việt Khê), Dong Son Era. This sword was belonged to a Vietnamese clan leader who was buried in boat coffin. It was similar to Chinese swords of the Warring State Era.
